What I Do?

If life can be envisioned as a story, yours most certainly is a precious one. Looking back on each chapter of it, no matter what plot you have been central to, you endured, you accomplished, you overcame.

As a counsellor and healthcare professional driven by compassion and a commitment to others, I believe that humans have the capacity to solve even the most complex of problems through utilizing themselves as their own resource. My education allows me the ability to help guide you through the most challenging issues in your life, but ultimately the greatest joy I receive is witnessing a sense of value, self-identity, and self- worth return as a result of reconnecting with the one person that matters the very most: you.

In treatment I rely on Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Solutions-Based Therapy, and Emotionally-Focused Therapy. Additionally, I draw from medical models of health in the facilitation of rehabilitation, dietary, and wellness goals for individuals. I am passionate about educating and motivating others to achieve the quality of life they deserve.

Together we will discover what allowed you to achieve the goals in your life that you found most significant and unlock the strengths and values that temporarily fell below the surface. Because difficult journeys lead to beautiful destinations, it would be my honour to walk alongside you en route to yours.

“Many of us spend our whole lives running from feeling with the mistaken belief that you can not bear the pain. But you have already borne the pain. What you have not done is feel all you are beyond that pain.”

Frequently Asked Questions With Jay

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions that we receive. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

I was fascinated with the human mind and understanding why people behave as they do. I wanted to assist people in achieving the lives they envisioned with a greater understanding of this.

My favourite thing is seeing the joy people experience when I help them accomplish their most desired goals in life.

I would say to anyone who is hesitant, book a bit of time with me to see if my caring, nonjudgmental, and warm approach is something you prefer. I’m always thinking of how to make your experience in therapy exceed your expectations.

One of the greatest misunderstandings about trauma is that it only happens after an event that threatens our life. Emotional hurts that affect our basic needs for safety, security, and well-being can also be traumatic.

One of my life goals is to continually strive to further develop myself as a psychotherapist and continually provide my clients with the best outcomes they deserve. Self-development is a value of mine and I am constantly looking for opportunities to further my personal and professional growth to benefit myself and the people I help.

Therapy is a regulated profession where therapists are licensed professionals who assist in treating mental conditions utilizing evidenced-based interventions backed by clinical research and accepted as validated tools, whereas a coach or friend lacks this ,however, can provide advice and support.
