Level up your brain
Neural Pathway Integration for kids and teens
The programme your child will call an adventure, built on high-energy, science-backed play that teaches self-regulation and emotional strength.
- Ages 4–17 Who it is for
- 6 wks Two sessions a week
- 4 circuits Every session
- In person Burlington office
Which one is yours?
-
4–8
Play is the whole method. Circuits look like games, and a parent stays in the loop every week.
-
9–12
Old enough to name what is happening in their body, and to practise the strategies between sessions.
-
13–17
Run as a partnership with the teenager, not around them. Same circuits, more say in the plan.
Identify Your Obstacles
The bosses most of our heroes are facing when their families first get in touch.
-
The Meltdown Surge
Post-school energy spikes and transition struggles.
-
Focus Fog
Difficulty sustaining attention during critical tasks.
-
Sensory Glitch
Overload from lights, sounds, or environments.
-
Social Wall
Anxiety blocking natural social exploration.
The Healing Workshop Stations
Each station builds a new brain skill.
-
Sensory Integration
Visual, vestibular, motor and auditory systems trained at once, using a hover board, laser targets and drones — this is where impulse control and action inhibition are built.
-
Emotional Regulation
A trampoline simulates what the body does when emotion escalates, then a heart-rate-variability biofeedback game trains your child to bring themselves back down.
-
Mindfulness Training
Guided meditation supported by specific neurological frequencies, so a child can feel the difference between escalation and calm, and later find it alone.
-
Emotional Intelligence Reporting
Self-reporting that teaches a child not just what they feel but why, so they learn they can change their own emotional state.
Equip Your Power-Ups
The four targeted outcomes the programme is built to move.
-
Focus, attention and impulse control
The training circuits cement specific neurological pathways, so attention stops being something your child has to fight for.
-
Emotional regulation
Training the escalation that hijacks concentration, so a hard moment stops taking the whole afternoon with it.
-
Emotional intelligence
Understanding not only what they feel but why, which is the part that turns a strategy into a skill.
-
Working memory
Increasing working memory capacity, the thing that makes multi-step instructions survive the walk to the next room.
The Discovery Passport
Step-by-step toward neurological confidence.
-
The Map
Detailed intake to map your child's unique brain signature.
-
The Quest
6 weeks of interactive workshop sessions and tools, two sessions a week.
-
The Badge
Final certification and a long-term resilience strategy.

What the programme actually involves
The plain-language version, with the parts most parents want to know before they call.

What it is
The Neural Pathway Integration Program is a 6-week training programme, two sessions a week, at Bayridge Counselling Centres for kids and teens. It builds and strengthens the neurological pathways behind focus, attention, relaxation and de-escalation, using a training circuit much like a cross-fitness circuit for the brain — technology, mindfulness, bio-feedback and therapeutic rehearsal woven together. Children come to us because homework is a battle, transitions cause meltdowns, or a bright child is not showing what they can do at school.
-
Why it is movement, not talking
A child who is dysregulated cannot access the reasoning part of their brain, so strategies taught in conversation tend not to survive contact with a hard morning. Sessions are physical and game-based on purpose — balance, rhythm and coordination work builds the regulation that makes everything else teachable. The play is the mechanism, not the sweetener.
-
What a session looks like
Your child works through the workshop stations above with a facilitator. Each station targets one underlying system, and progress is tracked so you can see what is changing rather than take our word for it. You will get plain-language reporting on what moved, at home and at school.
-
Diagnosis and cost
No diagnosis is required. Some families arrive with an ADHD or autism assessment already done, many arrive with a hunch and a frustrated teacher. Bayridge works with most major Canadian insurers, but coverage for this programme depends on your plan, so check before committing.
This may be a fit if
- Your child is bright but cannot get started, or cannot stop once started.
- Big feelings arrive faster than any strategy you have taught.
- Noise, lights, crowds or clothing derail the day.
- You have tried parenting approaches and the ceiling seems to be your child's nervous system, not your consistency.
- You can commit to two sessions a week for six weeks, plus a few minutes daily at home.
This is probably not the place to start if
- Your child is in crisis or at risk right now — that needs urgent care, not a programme with a waitlist.
- What you actually want is talk therapy for a specific worry — our children and youth counselling is the better door.
- You need a formal diagnosis for school or funding — start with a youth assessment instead.
- Travel to Burlington twice a week is not realistic for your family.
Not sure which of those you are? That is exactly what the consultation is for.
Common Curiosities
Bayridge works with most major Canadian insurers, including Blue Cross, Manulife, Sun Life, Canada Life and Green Shield. Coverage for this programme specifically depends on your plan, so please check before you commit and we will give you whatever paperwork helps.
Most are, in week one. The first circuit is deliberately physical rather than verbal, and it uses hover boards, laser targets and drones, which is a much easier place for a quiet child to start than a conversation.
No. Some families arrive with an ADHD or ASD diagnosis, many arrive with a hunch and a frustrated teacher. The program works from what your child can currently do, not a label.
Progress is shared with you through bi-weekly check-ins and progress reviews, and online behavioural assessments before, during and after the programme track what is changing. The Program Director schedules time to speak with parents personally.
