I am here for you…to help you. My career choice has always been to provide care and support for those who seek to improve their lives. Throughout my life, I have always found satisfaction in helping others work through their difficulties through consulting, teaching, understanding, and supporting. For me, there is no greater reward than seeing my clients feel better by overcoming negativity, becoming emotionally stronger ,and expanding their horizons.
Since 2001, I have combined research, teaching and psychotherapeutic practice to develop tools for diagnosing and solving personal and interpersonal problems.
I provide my clients with a deeper understanding and tools to deal with issues such as anxiety, distress, emotional regulation due to crisis, grief, loss, bereavement, work-stress, burnout, difficulties of adaptation to changes, low efficiency, interpersonal and role conflicts, communicational difficulties, and poor time management skills. I have extensive experience in the topics of self-control, anger management, self-motivation, correction of destructive behaviour and habits, recovery from a traumatic experience, building self-esteem, and improving one’s well-being.
Besides my psychotherapy practice I also have ample experience working in Organizational Consulting. I deal with business-organizations, assess employee’s skills and competencies, provide the performance appraisal, and evaluate interactions between co-workers. I know from an employer’s and employee’s perspective what professional development and career-building requires and how to increase the efficiency of applied efforts.
I received my degree and PhD in Psychology at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia. I have also received extensive training in Applied Psychology at Birkbeck College, University of London, UK. Upon arrival in Toronto I entered the Bridge Training Program for Internationally Trained Mental Health Professionals and after completing the Program, I received my Registration as a Psychotherapist (RP).
Mostly, I use Person-centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Additionally, I can apply the Psychodynamic Approach and Leonov’s Activity Theory.
Beyond theories and techniques, I believe in cooperation between therapist and client, client’s uniqueness, their inner source of wisdom and power, and building a strong foundation of trust and rapport.
